Tis the Season...for Math Christmas Villages!
Do you need a Christmas activity that uses math skills AND lets students decorate your classroom for you?! SIGN ME UP!
In this activity, students in groups will solve math problems that match a piece of the village. (Example: Get the post office problem correct, earn the post office.) They will color their pieces and then attach them to toilet paper rolls so they stand up. I gave each group a shelf on my bookcase or a part of a table in the room to decorate with their villages and voila--my room was decorated with snowy Christmas villages EVERYWHERE!
The kids had an amazing time! This activity has math problem pages for grades 4-5 and another for grades 5-6. Choose what works best for your kids! Enjoy the Math Christmas Village! (Oh and I made yet another one for grades 7-8 that works on percents. Didn't leave you out, upper middle school math people!)
